At Nurturing Futures Preschool & Childcare, we are committed to providing a high-quality, State-Regulated Licensed Childcare Home that combines educational excellence with a warm, family-centered atmosphere where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. We proudly accept NCI (Workforce Child Care Assistance) to ensure quality early childhood education remains accessible to working families throughout the community.
Our intimate, at-home learning environment allows children to receive the individualized attention, encouragement, and academic support they deserve. With smaller group settings, every child is known personally, celebrated for their unique strengths, and guided at a pace that nurtures confidence, independence, and developmental growth. We believe children learn best in environments where they feel valued, secure, and genuinely connected.
At Nurturing Futures, learning is intentionally designed to be both educationally enriching and enjoyable. Inspired by engaging, hands-on learning experiences, we create a space where curiosity is encouraged through interactive instruction, literacy exploration, creative discovery, dramatic play, science, math enrichment, movement, and meaningful social-emotional development.
Our educational approach is supported through Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) alignment and incorporates age-appropriate learning experiences that help prepare children for successful transitions into their next educational grade level. We focus on strengthening early literacy, mathematics, problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills while ensuring developmental milestones are met.
In addition to academics, we intentionally integrate life skills development into everyday learning, helping children build confidence in areas such as communication, responsibility, kindness, independence, emotional regulation, teamwork, and problem-solving—skills that support success both inside and outside the classroom.

Director
Founded by Assata Christmas, a passionate educator, community advocate, and lifelong champion for children and families, Nurturing Futures was created from a vision to bridge educational excellence with compassionate care. With seven years of experience in public education, Mrs. Christmas has served diverse learners, including multi-lingual students and families, helping children of all backgrounds thrive through engaging, inclusive learning experiences.
A proud Prairie View A&M University alumna, Mrs. Christmas holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Management and a Master of Community Development through the College of Architecture, as well as a CDA bringing together expertise in education, leadership, child development, and community impact.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Christmas has dedicated years to philanthropy and service throughout Houston, advocating for underserved families, teen mothers, and youth through educational enrichment, nonprofit development, and community-based initiatives. Her work has supported numerous nonprofit organizations in strengthening social programs, expanding educational opportunities, and uplifting vulnerable populations through meaningful, sustainable solutions.
